Day 7 was quite a long day!

Day 7 was quite a long day! We had a very snowy train journey along the coast from Sapporo to Hakodate with a lovely lady serving coffee from a trolley at our seats. We dropped off our bags at the hotel and I had ramen for lunch - an interesting system where you had to pay at the machine before you went in. We then went to the old British consulate where you could buy a Deer Stalker hat if you so desired! An ice cream sandwich at the "second best" ice cream shop in Hokkaido! The cable car to the to of Mt Hakodate was fun but very crowded! I managed to find the lift a a quiet seat in the cafe for coffee - I'm sure the view was just the same but warmer! We finished the evening with a 6 course Frenjish meal (French/English/Japanese!!!) and then to bed! I'm writing this on day 8 after an early tour round the fish market and breakfast. Off to Kyoto talk to you from there!
